Burnley Backyard – July 2013 Update

bikeAnother new arrival at Richmond Community Learning Centre has been Jenny Fuge who is Project Manager for the Burnley Backyard.  Jenny is keen to keep everyone interested in the project informed – her first update follows:

Hello to all the interested community members of the above project.   I have recently been employed by Richmond Community Learning Centre to act as the Project Manager for the Burnley Backyard.   My role will be primarily to liaise with and inform community members of the progress of the project.   I will also attend meetings with council, architects and the Working Committee for the project.

At present we are continuing to add to our list of interested members and also residents prepared to volunteer to help with the project once it is at that stage.

Over the last two weeks I have attended meetings and am slowly becoming familiar with the role, but I can report to you that the funds for the first stage of the project have been secured, and drawings of the facility are being finalised.   The soil testing will begin shortly and then plans submitted to council for approval by the end of this year.

Once the drawings have been finalised a public meeting will be held to allow residents to view the proposed facility and I will be organising that meeting for some time in September.

The Working Party and RCLC Committee are very pleased with the community response to the project and look forward to meeting residents in the near future.   In the meantime please feel free to contact me at jennyf.rclc@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Bye for now,    Jenny Fuge
