What’s going on with the greening of Richmond?

Richmond Community Learning Centre is leading the charge to “Green” Richmond’s homes. And they are looking for volunteers to share their enthusiasm with other members of the community.

Richmond Community Learning Centre is one of five Neighbourhood Houses that have been retrofitted with environmental technologies and appliances. They are becoming eco-demonstration centres for residents wanting to learn how to make their own homes more environmentally friendly.

“We are moving into the community education phase of the project and are looking for volunteers who have started to make their own homes energy efficient”, Annie Hingston said.

“If you want to share your enthusiasm for the environment, this is the volunteer job for you.” she said.  “Training in community education will be provided by experts from the National Centre for Sustainability. The free training course starts soon. People interested in volunteering can register now”.

This is your chance to help others do something to reduce their energy costs, make their homes more comfortable and help the environment.
